Premananda School, the free school for needy children
"Bharatha Sakthi Trust is giving the opportunity to poor children,
orphans and children who are living with difficulties not only to go to
school, to receive clothes and food, but also to receive a higher education." - 1st January 2006 -
"There are 750 children here in the Ashram receiving an education
in our school. They have to finish their studies. They come to study here
because they are from poor backgrounds." - 6th August, 2007 -
In 2003, the Premananda High School Headmistress said,
"As the educational level of the children is very low when they come
here, they need extra coaching. Therefore, every day after school, we give
all children from the 1st to 9th standard one extra hour of coaching under
the guidance of a teacher until 4:30 pm. The 10th standard receive two
extra hours. We await the results of their first trimester exams to see
what subjects they need extra coaching. Before each exam the 10th standard
students have study classes under the guidance of some teachers and further
we organise extra classes on Saturdays if necessary."
School children, who found joy in doing something helpful to others
About the school children, at the time of Mahashivaratri 2008, Swamiji
said,
"I am very loving with all the Ashram children. They are all very
good children. Today these children found four purses with money inside
them and they brought them to me. Some plates and cups were left lying
around somewhere so they brought them to me. I gave them to the Management
Head of the Ashram, saying that if anybody claims them they should be handed
over. Someone left a watch somewhere and this was also brought to me. Therefore,
my children are good children."
